Sungrow Floating PV Showcases High-Adaptability System Solutions at Philippines International Solar and Energy Storage Exhibition

On May 19, the Philippines International Solar and Energy Storage Exhibition opened at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, with Sungrow Floating PV making a notable debut by presenting its system solutions and demonstrating its industry-leading capabilities in product innovation and development.

Addressing the challenging wave and water conditions in the Philippines, Sungrow Floating PV introduced a highly adaptable system solution. Certified to international standards, the solution guarantees 25 years of reliable operation, having undergone 1,000 hours of environmental stress cracking tests, showcasing strong weather resistance. Its high corrosion resistance, verified through CX environmental testing, enables long-term adaptation to harsh environments such as high temperatures, humidity, and salt spray, ensuring stable system performance over 25 years. Tailored for extreme conditions, the solution is designed for harsh operating environments like strong waves, featuring a structure with high-impact resistance. An innovative elastic mooring system buffers wave forces, ensuring safe displacement of the system during adverse weather.

The solution incorporates an “overlapping” connection design that optimizes buoyancy transfer and verifies structural integrity under simulated strong wave conditions. Its uniformly distributed load design ensures balanced force distribution across the PV array, enhancing the system’s overall load-bearing capacity by 44% compared to conventional solutions. A 0.4-meter-wide operation and maintenance corridor, with buoyancy reserves exceeding 160 kg/m², guarantees the safety of personnel.

The Philippines’ renewable energy sector is experiencing robust growth. According to the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), the country aims to increase the share of new energy generation to 50% by 2040.
