Today, the first phase of the 1 million-kilowatt photovoltaic project of the North Interconnection Clean Energy Base of CGNPC Laos, the largest single photovoltaic project in Southeast Asia developed and constructed by China, is connected to the grid and put into operation.

it is understood that this project is the first large-scale mountain photovoltaic project in Laos. after the first phase is put into operation, the average annual power generation is expected to be about 1.65 billion kwh, equivalent saving standard coal consumption of about 500000 tons, carbon dioxide emission reduction of about 1.3 million tons.

our power station has installed about 2.23 million photovoltaic panels. relying on the China-Laos 500 kv interconnection line, the power station realizes power interconnection, which not only provides stable and clean power for the development of Laos, it also helps regional energy complementarities. We will operate the power station safely and efficiently and continue to contribute to China-Laos cooperation.

According to introduction, the project has driven more than 40 enterprises in China’s new energy manufacturing, construction and construction industry chain, as well as Laos local construction units, machinery supply, raw material supply and more than 30 enterprises to participate in the construction. Subsequently, CGN will accelerate the implementation of follow-up clean energy projects in the five northern provinces of Laos, open up the central and southern markets, and promote China-Laos connectivity to a deeper and broader field.
