More than 60 workers wore helmets and carried out concrete pouring operations in a tense and orderly manner on the front line of construction.

This construction area, which covers an area of about 40 acres, was once an old factory area that was idle due to poor management. In just a few months, this land has regained consciousness and is about to achieve a magnificent transformation.

“The energy storage area is currently undergoing civil foundation construction.” Yang Jiawei, the person in charge of the project site, told reporters that since the full resumption of work on March 4, the overall progress of the project has been smooth. At present, the pile foundation project in the energy storage area is nearing completion. It is expected that all civil work in the energy storage area will be completed in early April, and then the construction of the booster station area and the 2800 square meter complex building will be fully rolled out.

“The equipment is already ready to go at the manufacturer.” Yang Jiawei said that nearly 100 core equipment, including 40 battery warehouses and 20 PCS integrated booster warehouses, had been fully produced. According to the plan, the equipment will be installed in mid-April, and the energy storage power station will be connected to the grid from the end of May to June this year.

The project is not only a vivid practice of invigorating idle land and improving resource utilization efficiency in Yinchuan Economic Development Zone, but also a key link in improving the park’s new energy ecological chain with its shared energy storage and “integration of light storage and charging” mode.

“We chose this layout. On the one hand, we took a fancy to the considerable power generation and intensive power demand in Yinchuan Economic Development Zone. On the other hand, it is close to the superior power grid and has obvious geographical advantages.” Yang Jiawei said. After the completion of the project, it will serve as an important supporting facility of the power grid, undertaking important tasks such as peak shaving, frequency modulation and emergency backup, just like the “stabilizer” and “reservoir” of the power grid: charging and storage when wind power and photovoltaic power generation are surplus, and discharging to fill the gap at peak power consumption can not only effectively absorb new energy, but also greatly improve the flexibility and safety of the regional power grid, and escort the stable power consumption of enterprises in the park.

Talking about future planning, Yang Jiawei said that the company still has longer-term goals. “We plan to rely on the remaining resources to plan the second phase of the project, further increase production capacity or build an integrated project of light storage and charging, so that this land will continue to glow with new development momentum.”
