Recently, the first megawatt super capacitor energy storage system of Jiangxi power grid was put into operation in Fuzhou 110 kV Tengqiao substation, marking a key step in the demonstration application of this technology on the provincial power grid side.

(hereinafter referred to as the state grid Jiangxi electric power research institute). its performance advantages are outstanding, with a rated power of 1 mva and a continuous release of 3 megawatts of energy in 2 seconds, which is equivalent to the energy level of 3000 domestic air conditioners running at full power at the same time, the response speed is accurate to the millisecond level. Different from the traditional energy storage power station, which focuses on long-term electric energy storage and slow release and mainly deals with the continuous power supply gap of the power grid, the super capacitor energy storage system takes “fast response and instantaneous regulation” as its core. When instantaneous power fluctuation occurs in the power grid, it can quickly absorb or release electric energy, effectively calm disturbance, and its cycle life far exceeds that of ordinary energy storage equipment, thus making up for the short board of traditional energy storage power station in instantaneous regulation.
