On March 31, the construction of the main project of the Guangxi Yulin Pumped Storage Power Station surveyed and designed by the China Energy Construction Guangxi Institute started, marking that the project has entered a new stage of comprehensive advancement.
Yulin pumped storage power station is a clean energy project listed in the “14th five-year plan” of the national “medium-and long-term development plan for pumped storage (2021-2035)”. it is located in chengjunzhen, Fumian district, Yulin city, Guangxi, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, four 300000-kilowatt reversible pump-turbine units, and the installed scale and regulating capacity reach 1.2 million kilowatts respectively, every hour, 1.2 million cubic meters of water can be converted into 1.2 million degrees of clean electricity, which can meet the daily electricity demand of about 200000 residents.
after the power station is completed, it will undertake the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency backup of Guangxi power grid system. at that time, it can absorb 2.16 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy every year and correspondingly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.9 million tons. it will also provide reliable guarantee for the efficient transmission of clean energy of 10 million kilowatt-class offshore wind power base in Beibu gulf and 7 million kilowatts and coastal areas, help build a new power system with clean and low-carbon energy as the main body.
