Recently, the European Commission approved a €1.2 billion plan to support investments in renewable energy equipment in Poland.
This aid program will provide direct funding to companies in Poland that produce batteries, solar panels, wind turbines, heat pumps, electrolyzers, and carbon capture equipment, while also supporting those manufacturing necessary components or raw materials for renewable devices.
The funding under this plan is expected to be fully disbursed by the end of 2025.
Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice President of the European Commission for Competition Policy, stated that this investment aligns with the goals of the Green Deal Industrial Plan and the EU’s climate neutrality objectives.
“At the same time, distortions of competition remain limited,” Vestager added.
The European Commission noted that the national aid program was approved under the Commission’s Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF), which was adopted in March 2023 to provide support to EU member states in accelerating their green energy transition.
