Gansu’s first large-scale biomass green methanol project started

on the morning of March 30, the 100000 tons/year biomass green methanol project of nengke group ecological company officially started construction.

It is reported that the project is the first large-scale biomass green methanol project in Gansu Province, with a total investment of 1.427 billion yuan. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in September 2027, which will inject strong momentum into the green and low-carbon development of Lanzhou New District.

The project covers an area of about 350 mu. The project takes the complete industrial chain of “green electricity-green hydrogen-green alcohol” as the core, adopts the technical route of biomass gasification coupled with green hydrogen preparation, and uses agricultural and forestry wastes such as straw and fungus sticks as raw materials to create a demonstration project of deep integration of new energy and chemical industry.

After the completion of the project, it will further improve the green chemical industry chain in Lanzhou New Area, help the new area to build a 100 billion-level green chemical industry highland, provide strong support for the realization of the regional “double carbon” goal, and promote the coordinated development of employment and related industries To achieve the organic unity of economic, ecological and social benefits.

in January 2026, Shanghai electric group state-controlled world engineering co., ltd. (members of the consortium: China chemical engineering 14th construction co., ltd., China chemical engineering 9th construction co., ltd., Shanxi installation group co., ltd.) won the bid for the first phase of EPC general contract of the project, with a bid price of 0.95906 billion.

In March 2026, Coal Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. won the bid for the EPC project of the spare biomass gasification unit, with a bid price of 0.132 billion.
